Feeding Modes
Scheduled
> Available in dedicated feeder setup only.
You set mealtimes, and Feedsy counts down to the moment, then opens at the exact time. The feeder stays open for the duration you choose, giving your pet time to arrive and eat. Leftovers can roll into the next meal. With RFID or pet scale enabled, only the assigned pet gets access - others are locked out. The feeder will close, or won't open at all, if an unauthorized pet is detected nearby.
Windowed
> Available in dedicated or multi-pet feeder setups.
You set a constant bowl target (e.g., 5g) and allowances per time window (e.g. every 4 hours). When an assigned pet approaches, Feedsy opens, tracks intake per pet, and refills the bowl back to target after they leave. Once a pet reaches its allowance for that window, Feedsy won't open again until the next window resets.
- Example: Imagine you set a 5g bowl target and a 7g allowance every 8 hours for each of your two cats - Luna and Oliver. Luna comes first, eats 3g, and leaves. Feedsy immediately refills the bowl back to 5g and logs 3g against Luna's 7g allowance. Later, Oliver arrives, eats 4g, the bowl refills, and 4g is logged against Oliver's allowance. When Luna returns, it still has 2g remaining for the current window, so she can continue eating - and even eat the whole 5g in the bowl. However, next time Luna comes back - she has exceed her allowance, and the feeder simply won't open again for Luna until the next 8-hour window.
Unlimited

Closest to free-feeding, but with tracking. You define how much food should be in the bowl. Each time your pet eats, Feedsy logs the intake and automatically refills to the set level. Unlimited ensures consistent access while still tracking exactly what was consumed. The feeder stays closed and opens only if authorized pet approaches.

The bowl measures 6" x 5" (15.2cm x 12.7cm) at the top and is 2" (5cm) deep. The weight scale platform - the area in front of the bowl where your pet stands or sits to eat - measures 16.5" x 9.4" (42cm x 24cm) and supports pets up to 22lbs (10kg).
If your dog fits comfortably within these dimensions, Feedsy will be a great fit.

What is the bowl made of?
The feeder features a stainless steel bowl that magnetically mounts into place for improved durability and easy cleaning. The white bowl visible in some photos and videos was part of our prototype.

The food bin holds up to 10.5cups (2.5L) of dry kibble, enough to support several days of feeding depending on portion size and meal frequency.
